2. Dial the country code for the country you are calling.

3. Dial the city code.

From within México: The long distance code 01 is always dialed before the city code and the number. If you are calling into the same city just dial the 7 or 8 digit number provided.

Mobile/cell phone numbers starts depending on where you are: in the same city or in other city. If you are calling to a mobile/cell number in the same city you are, you have to use the prefix 044. If the mobile/cell number belongs to a different city, you have to use the prefix 045.

If you plan to buy a mobile/cell phone in México, (They're called cell phones here) check what company the person you are most likely to call the most uses. It's more expensive if you are calling from one mobile phone company to someone who uses another. ie. Dialing using Telcel to an Iusacell user or vice versa is more expensive than Telcel to Telcel or Iusacell to Iusacell.
